Aligning with Pay Transparency

—From the desk of Stacey Matthews, Executive Director of Human Resources

Earlier this year, we wrote about the province’s new pay transparency legislation and what that means for Selkirk College. We’re pleased to announce that, in collaboration with our systems teams, both Unit4 (where you can access your employment information and submit absence requests) and HireServe (the employee recruitment portal) have been updated to align with the categories in the province’s Gender and Sex Data Standard.

Please take a moment to review your gender data in Unit4 and make any necessary changes. Updating this information is voluntary; however, if you choose not to update, the current information on file will be used for reporting purposes.

As a reminder, we will download this data next summer to create a pay transparency report, which is required by law. This report will provide insights into pay levels in relation to gender. Please note that gender information in Unit4 is not visible to supervisors.

Thank you for helping us maintain accurate and up-to-date information!
