Welcome to Randy Kerr to School of Industry & Trades Training

We wish to welcome Fine Woodworking instructor Randy Kerr to the School of Industry and Trades Training (SITT) and to Selkirk College. Randy will relieve Michael Grace who is on a years’ leave of absence.

Randy has been a furniture designer and woodworker of international stature for over 25 years. His works have appeared in dozens of exhibitions and juried shows and he has been profiled in numerous trade publications and other media. He has done countless commissions, including Canada’s wedding gift to Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, as well as many fine furniture pieces for Canadian embassies around the globe 

In addition to his professional woodworking background, Randy is an experienced educator. He developed and taught the Cabinet Maker’s program at College of the North Atlantic in Newfoundland. Most recently, Randy taught computer applications to architecture students at Carleton University in Ottawa.

When not working, Randy hopes to take advantage of the recreational opportunities the West Kootenay affords: he’s an avid back country skier and whitewater paddler. We look forward to working with Randy over the next year. Welcome to SITT and Selkirk College.

Janine Hendry Settles Into Financial Aid Office
Janine Hendry’s role at Selkirk is to help students through the student loan process, troubleshoot the student loan appeals process, provide options and opportunities through scholarships and bursaries, point students towards work study programs, and help with budgeting. The Financial Aid Office is located on the Castlegar Campus.—September 30, 2014
