What Will You Be Doing In Your New Position? What Is Your Title? When Did You Start?
I am a cook. I started late August of this year. I am responsible for the preparing and cooking of the morning baking, the daily soups and the daily specials. I help with the organization of the kitchen.
Do You Have A Family?
My husband Bob and I have two adult daughters. We have a lovely granddaughter, Ava, who is 18 months and a rough-and-tumble grandson, Zach, who will be a year old in November.
I have recently adopted my new 4 year old shepherd cross, Shelby from H.E.A.R.T. Dog Rescue.
What Were You Doing Career-wise Before You Accepted This Position?
I have been with Selkirk College over 15 years in the cafeteria as the relief cook and FSW. I have been in the restaurant industry most of my life, covering just about every position.
What Is Your Educational Background?
I did a culinary arts course at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, professional bartending and wine course in Toronto and a French service course in Alberta. I also completed the Selkirk College Office Administration program in 1990 and then Applied Business Technology online through Selkirk College in early 2000.
What Is Your Favourite Thing To Do Outside Of Work?
My favourite thing to do outside of work is walking or hiking with my dog, Shelby as well as yoga and gardening.
