Congratulations to Lareena Rilkoff on Her New Role

I’m very pleased to announce that, after a thorough and competitive recruitment process, Lareena Rilkoff will be our next vice-president, college services. As you know, Lareena was most recently the executive director, finance & risk, and she has been interim VP since this past May. I’d like to sincerely thank the selection committee members, each of whom dedicated significant time and effort to the process, and whose insights were invaluable in ensuring we chose the right person for the job.

Lareena’s move into this position now creates a vacancy for executive director, finance/CFO, we’ll be posting to fill that role soon.

Lareena is an alumna of Selkirk College, where she began her post-secondary education with a diploma in Business Administration. She then achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from the University of Lethbridge, a Master’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Saskatchewan and a professional designation as a chartered accountant. Lareena began her career at local accounting firm Yule Anderson (now Grant Thornton), holding progressively responsible positions until 2017, when she joined the college’s Accounting Services department. She later worked in Reporting and Planning, then advanced to executive director, finance & risk, in 2020.

I’m very glad to have Lareena in the portfolio, as she has an excellent understanding of our values, vision and mission and a track record for problem-solving, risk management and collaboration. I hope you’ll join me in congratulating Lareena on her new role.
