Ensuring Integrity in Our Organizational Climate Survey
How We Protect Anonymity and Deliver Meaningful Insights
—From the desk of Stacey Matthews, Executive Director, Human Resources
As we prepare for this year’s Organizational Climate Survey (OCS), which is coming soon, I want to take a moment to highlight how we are ensuring the integrity, anonymity and meaningfulness of the results.
To start, an independent third-party firm—Discovery Research—is administering the survey and conducting the initial round of data cleaning. This step is critical in protecting individual anonymity and ensuring that responses remain confidential.
Once the data has been processed, Selkirk Innovates will take the lead on the analysis. You may wonder why Selkirk Innovates is handling this instead of an external firm. The answer is simple: our team has deep expertise in both survey methodology and the unique context of our organization. They are well-positioned to interpret the data in a way that provides useful insights while maintaining rigorous academic standards.
Additionally, conducting the analysis in-house is a more cost-effective approach, allowing us to invest in and enhance our internal research capacity. This strengthens our ability to make data-informed decisions that support Selkirk College now and in the future.
This means the questions have been tested and refined in other organizations and institutions, ensuring that they accurately measure key aspects of our workplace environment.
Ultimately, this process allows us to gain a nuanced, research-based understanding of our workplace climate while upholding strict protections for respondent confidentiality.
We appreciate your participation and look forward to using these insights to advance Selkirk College.
