Castlegar Has A New Dean Of Instruction
I’m very pleased to announce that Rhonda Schmitz has accepted the position of Dean of Instruction based on the Castlegar Campus.
Rhonda came to Selkirk in 2003 as an instructor in the Human Services programs. For the past four and a half years she has been the Chair for the School of Health and Human Services. This is a large, dynamic school based on the Castlegar and Trail campuses with 16 face-to-face and online programs.
Rhonda had done an admirable job in leading her school through many staffing and programming changes and in developing several new programming initiatives. Prior to her work at Selkirk, Rhonda worked at the University College of the Cariboo (now Thompson Rivers University) and in community service organizations in Kamloops and Kelowna. She also has experience in private practice and in several community development initiatives.
A product of the BC college system, Rhonda holds a certificate and diploma from Okanagan College as well as a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Child and Youth Care from the University of Victoria.
Please join me in welcoming Rhonda to her new role and extending our very best wishes for her continued success.
