Discover More about the Changing Learner

Come Prepared with your Questions

Selkirk College’s day of employee learning and engagement is just around the corner and this year’s Discovery Day keynote address is coming from one of our local high schools.

Mount Sentinel Secondary School teachers Heather Shippit (Drama and English) and Danny Leeming (Information Technology and Media) will be joining us with two students from their school's Learning Academy. The group will come prepared to answer our questions about how today’s learner is changing.

Selkirk College President Angus Graeme and Theresa Southam, Teaching and Learning Institute coordinator will open the discussion with queries about new Kindergarten to Grade 12 curriculum, student-centred learning and how mental health is being considered in school, for example.

Discovery Day participants are asked to bring their own questions for our guests. Find out more about the secondary school scene as these students will be Selkirk College’s next learners.

Discovery Day will be held on Thursday, February 15 on the Castlegar Campus. Our keynote address is scheduled from 1 to 1:30 in the cafeteria.

If you haven’t already, please go to Discovery Day to learn more about the day and register for your selection of workshops.

See you there!
