Reimagining the Columbia Across Borders
This intimate gathering of interdisciplinary artists will take place from May 11 to 13, 2018 on Selkirk College's Castlegar Campus, a fitting location at the confluence of the Kootenay and Columbia Rivers. As Canada and the United States prepare to renegotiate the Columbia River Treaty, the timing of this contemplative symposium is also rich with significance.
As part of this special collaborative event, a soft cover book will be published featuring completed works fitting the River Arts theme. Copies of this book will be shared with attendees at the symposium.
Should anyone wish to make a submission of completed work for consideration in this publication, please contact Tracy Punchard with your ideas. The deadline for this is November 30.
The River Arts Symposium includes a Friday evening reception and exhibit at the Kootenay Gallery as well as four panel sessions on the theme Imagining the River held Saturday. An excursion is planned for Sunday.
