Staff Encouraged to Bring Student Nurses Into Classrooms
The Options for Sexual Health clinic serves students as a drop-in clinic run by nurses and students in the Selkirk College Nursing Program. Now in its fifth year, the supervisor of the program is reaching out to faculty to help spread the word on this valuable service.
Below is a letter from Judith Fearing:
Dear Selkirk Faculty,
The Selkirk College Options for Sexual Health clinic is up and running for the fifth year in Monashee wing of the Castlegar Campus. This clinic is unique among the 58 Opt clinics throughout the province in that it is on a college campus and provides both a service to students and faculty and is a practice placement for third year nursing students.
Our request: It is most helpful in getting the word out to have the Opt nursing students make a short five minute presentation to individual classes of students at the beginning of each semester.
If you can allow the time for this please contact Sami: firstname.lastname@example.org (one of the Selkirk Opt nursing students) with:
- name and number of your class
- the time you would prefer
- the location of your class
- she will get back to you with a confirmation
Thank you very much for your support of this endeavor.
