Vaping Added to No Smoking Policy

Policy Now Includes Electronic Cigarettes

 

An amendment has been made to Selkirk College policy #6330, the No Smoking Policy. The word "vaping" has been added to the policy to include restrictions on electronic cigarettes.

Selkirk College is committed to providing a healthy smoke-free envinroment for its employees, students and visitors. The college must comply with provincial and municipal legislation enacted to regulat smoking in the workplace and in post-secondary educational institutions.

 No Vaping Two

This policy prohibits smoking in and around college buildings and vehicles. Without exception there will be no smoking on college grounds within 10 metres of any doorway, opening, window or air intake. Smoking is also prhibited in college-owned or college-leased vehicles.
