Over the next several weeks, we will be gratefully accepting monetary donations which will be specifically ear-marked for the purchase of grocery cards for our students. The value of the grocery card is the ability to reach the students who have the utmost immediate need, as well as reaching those students who, for a variety of reasons, are not willing to go to the food bank and may otherwise suffer through.
If you would like to contribute to the grocery card fund, please forward donations to Pat Henman (Nelson) or Holly Shively (Castlegar), in person or via internal mail - please make cheques payable to Selkirk College & note “Holiday Grocery Cards” in the memo.
If you would like a tax receipt, please be sure to include address information. All monies collected will go toward Selkirk students in the form of grocery cards, to be distributed through the Financial Aid office.
This initiative is not part of the regular Selkirk Student Staff Emergency Fund.
