Board of Governors Extends Gratitude

Open Letter to All Faculty, Staff and Administration of Selkirk College

It has now been more than two months since the world was forced to essentially shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The impact on the day-to-day operations on institutions like Selkirk College has been unlike any that we have experienced in our 54 years of existence. There is no doubt that when this catastrophic event was thrust upon us there was much uncertainty, anxiety and fear over what was to become of our beloved regional college.

Bruce LaRose Letter

Selkirk College Board of Governors Chair Bruce LaRose.

Although there are still many roadblocks to maneuver and many hurdles to jump before we arrive at the “new normal,” the Board of Governors wants to pause and simply say thank you to the entire team at Selkirk College. Your dedication, hard work, initiative and creativity has not gone unnoticed by the Board. It is because of all of you that Selkirk College has managed to get through this most difficult time in our history.

The Board has watched in amazement the concerted efforts of all to serve our students and to support our communities during this pandemic. You have successfully completed the present school year, are adjusting on the fly to spring/summer programs and are working diligently on preparing for the Fall Semester. For this you deserve our gratitude and admiration.

On behalf of all of the Selkirk College Board of Governors let me simply say THANK YOU and please continue to stay safe.

Respectfully, Bruce A. LeRose Q.C.

Chair of the Board of Governors
