Hairdressing Students Need Your Pennies

Each year the Selkirk College Hairdressing program sends students to Vancouver to experience the Allied Beauty Hair Show. The show is not only a learning tool for the students but also a competition and they are encouraged to enter. This year 16 students will hold special events and projects to raise funds so they can travel to the coast for this special field trip. They are all expected to attend as part of their course.

Starting today you can help Selkirk Hairdressing students get to Vancouver by donating your pennies. Those copper coins will soon be obsolete so why not get rid of them a little earlier by supporting the hairdressing students, and help pay for their travel, hotel and competition entry fee. If you have any penny wrappers to donate with your pennies, they could use them also.

Drop off your pennies to the Silver King Campus Hair Salon, and at the same time make an appointment to have your hair done. The salon will be open for business as of November 13. Your pennies can be dropped off any time the salon door is open. On behalf of the students, thank you.
