Your Chance to Help Prepare Doukhobor Dinner
Next week Selkirk College will be hosting the international Peace & Justice Studies Conference from September 22 to 24. It’s going to be a tremendous three days as participants from across the country and around the globe arrive to our region.
Part of the schedule includes a Doukhobor dinner at the Brilliant Cultural Centre just prior to the closing keynote speaker on Saturday (September 24). For anyone who has wondered what it takes to cook a Doukobor dinner (consisting of borscht and pyrahi as main courses) from scratch for up to 250 seated guests, and/or if you’d like to contribute to such a large scale effort, please contact Liana Zwick at 250.365.1368 or at email@example.com.
A borscht lunch being prepared at the Brilliant Cultural Centre for the Doukhobor 216 class back in the summer of 2015.
There are volunteer opportunities from Thursday to Saturday (days and evenings).
Spaseebo/thank-you from Liana!
