Homestay Hosts Needed for Fall Semester

Nelson an Area of Growth for International Students

Hosting a Selkirk College International student is a great way to learn more about different cultures and cement lifelong relationships.

The Selkirk International Homestay Program has been an important part of campus life in Castlegar for many years. Now more international students are coming to Nelson and the department is looking for host families in that community.

The rewards of becoming a homestay host are lasting and impactful.

There is currently a handful of students looking for homestay arrangements for this coming August. Students are coming from Chile, Mexico and China to different Nelson-based programs. More are expected to enrol in the coming weeks.

If you are interested in taking a student or know somebody who might be, Selkirk International wants to hear from you. The pay for taking a homestay student is $750 per month, but the rewards of creating a new bond far exceed the financial element of the program.

Find out more about how the homestay program works in the below handbook and then fill out the form to bring a whole new level of excitement to your home this Fall.
