Trees of Sharing set up on four campuses

Help Spread Joy this Christmas Season

As with past years, Selkirk College will be supporting the Community Harvest Food Bank (Castlegar) and Salvation Army (Nelson) in their efforts to fill hampers for families in our area. With these hampers will go toys for the kids.

Over the past few years, college employees have donated an overwhelming amount of toys and gifts to the Tree of Sharing.

Giving Tree

Krista Mannle is helping with the Tree of Sharing effort on the Castlegar Campus.

Christmas trees have been be erected at each campus: KSA, Silver King (administration area), Tenth Street (administration area) and Castlegar (administration building). Each tree features cards as simple reminders for you to purchase a gift if you wish to. Please feel free to take one and next time you're out shopping, think about purchasing something for a needy child in our community. Don't forget that it is often the teenagers that are forgotten... everyone loves to buy toys for little kids, and it seems often the older children are left out. If you would like to donate money rather than gifts, please feel free to do so; organizers can accept cash, cheques or gift cards and will make sure all funds are received.

Unwrapped gifts and monetary donations can be delivered to the following locations at each campus:

  • Castlegar Campus: Campus Manager's office (A29) by December 11th.
  • Tenth Street Campus: Lonnie Saliken in Admin area by December 11th.
  • Silver King Campus: Kristin Knutson in Admin/Reception area by December 11th.
  • KSA Campus: Erin Potulicki in Admin/Reception area by December 11th.
