Long Term and Retiree Dinner Not Possible Without Many Hands
The annual Long Term Employee and Retiree Dinner was held Thursday, May 15 in the Staff Lounge at the Castlegar Campus. The evening was hosted by Selkirk’s HR Director Gary Leier. Selkirk President Angus Graeme and Board of Directors Chair Bruce Morrison delivered greetings and congratulatory messages.
Selkirk College President Angus Graeme delivered the opening greeting speech at the May 15 dinner.
Behind the scenes Pam Mosby from the HR Department coordinated the successful event together. She issued the following thank you:
It is an amazing transformation to see our staff lounge set in banquet style with white linens and flowers and it is definitely a bit of work to get it that fashion. Many hands go into play and many thanks need to be extended. So, here we go… thank you to Ashley for your reliable table setup; thank you to Delina and the cafeteria staff for putting out a fabulous dinner buffet… thank you to Lisa, Jodi, Denise, Lynnette, Lita, and Sheryl for your friendly and skilled manner in keeping the food and drink flowing; thank you to Bob for taking such wonderful pictures; thank you to my helpers, Liana, Arleen and Ruby for your extra hands; and finally, thank you to Gary, for your support and laughter.
Most of all, thank you to everyone who took the time to come out to share some food and raise a glass to honour and send your best wishes to your co-workers and friends receiving long service pins or retirement gifts. Happy retirement to Barb, John, Marg, Elizabeth, Bonnie P, Lenka, Philomena, Luba, Pam, Laurie, Bonnie H, Joyce, Rosemary, Anni, Brenda, Rita and Per.
Of course with Pam retiring the coordination duties of the important May event will now shift to a new person. Big shoes to fill for sure.
