HR Matters To Students

This past summer the HR Department had the opportunity to make a positive contribution in the educational journey for one of our students. It’s an experience we highly recommend, as ultimately it’s a great opportunity to expand on the depth of education we provide for our students. From an HR department perspective, this direct student interaction offered a tangible reminder of why we are all here.

Mutally Beneficial To Students & The College

Jeromie Parker, now a second year student in the Business Admin program, joined the HR Department as his co-op work term this past summer. Jeromie was a great addition to our team, in that we were the grateful beneficiaries of his current learnings from his first year, along with his relevant experiences prior to his student life here.

The benefit was mutual in that we were able to provide him with the opportunity to get a deeper understanding of the HR function of an organization, in its many facets.

Support A Co-op Student In Your Department

Other departments that have successfully taken advantage of the benefits of this program this past year include the School of Environment & Geomatics and the Rural Development Institute.

The ability to support a co-op student in your department depends on your financial ability to do so. If you’d like to discuss your options to do so, please contact Coop Services Coordinator, Brenda Smith.
