Saturday night's Selkirk Gala 2013 was a huge success. The annual showcase of student talent took place at Nelson's Tenth Street Campus with more than 200 community members taking it in.
Contemporary Music & Technology students rocked the house with two disco sets.
The food for the annual event was prepared by students in the in the Professional Cooking Level II Program who put together an array of scrumptious hors d’oeurvres and a delicious four-course meal. First class service was provided by second year Resort & Hotel Management students who were also tasked with transforming the Mary Hall banquet room. Assisting in greeting the guests was handled by a team of Aviation Program students. The Selkirk College Special Education Program assembled an impressive array of silent and live auction items featuring a host of regional businesses. After desert was put away, the Contemporary Music & Technology Program students put on a two-set boogie filled tribute to disco that had most in attendance on their feet.
Thanks to everybody who took part in pulling this wonderful annual event off. It is a source of pride for Selkirk and a great opportunity to show supporters of the college the incredible talents that exist on all our campuses.
