Take Your Teaching Up a Notch - Instructional Skills

Professional Development Opportunities Help Increase Student Learning

 

This Instructional Skills blended course (face-to-face and pre and post online work) will be taught in a fun and challenging environment where you can develop, deliver and get feedback on lesson plans. You will leave with a written summary of your teaching philosophy, motivational strategies to better engage your students and tips on handling difficult situations in a respectful, professional manner.

Taught by Selkirk College's Martin Keyserlingk, this workshop includes pre and post online work as well as two face-to-face classes.

Offered through Vancouver Community College (VCC), the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP) helps instructors develop skills in course planning, delivery and evaluation. The program consists of seven 30-hour courses, including a new course PIDP 3100 Foundations of Adult Education) and a final capstone project. The courses can be taken online or at several institutions across the province, and be applied towards graduation requirements.
