May 2: Facilitator Training

This Facilitator Training is on Castlegar Campus, Rm TBD

We know learners and group members like to be involved in, have some control over and be respected throughout their own learning processes. We also know they learn and participate in different ways and at different rates.

This highly engaging and participatory workshop will provide a fresh and compelling look at facilitation.  It will focus on skills, awareness, attitudes and techniques that will help the facilitator consciously build trust, maximize involvement, and then manage and focus the participation.

You will learn about both the art and science of facilitation through experiential learning approaches and activities, while building on current and developing new knowledge perspectives, skills and confidence.

While this workshop addresses facilitating learning environments, we will also highlight throughout how the key facilitation approaches and skills covered are easily transferable to, and critical in, other group environments, such as planning, decision-making and evaluation. We will explore some useful facilitation techniques that apply to these specific tasks.
