Changes at Three Selkirk Food Destinations
The Food Services Department has been busy this summer with several changes in several positions.
Susan White has taken a cook position at the Tenth Street Cafeteria. Susan will be able to fill in when the cooking students are away on field trips to provide delicious lunch options to the students and staff at the Tenth Street Campus. More “grab and go” healthy items will be available from the cafeteria for those quick breaks between classes and the department plans to develop a “fresh take away dinner” option for students and staff, along with the existing “freezer meal” program. Susan is excited to be working alongside the students and Professional cooking instructors.
Lisa Jowsey will be taking her bubbly personality and smile to the Silver King Campus. Working alongside the Silver King cook, she will help provide additional “grab and go” healthy options for the students on campus at Silver King. Lisa's warm smile and willingness to help wherever possible is sure to be brighten the student's day.
Skarlette Lemaire has accepted a cook position in the Castlegar cafeteria. Skarlette started with the college working at Castlegar and then moved to Silver King. She is a creative and talented cook who has been responsible for many elegant dinners in the staff lounge and hearty lunches in the cafeteria. Look for more ethnic lunch specials along with gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options along with a warm smile from Skarlette.
Freida Trubetskoff has moved from Tenth Street Cafeteria to the Castlegar cafeteria. Freida brings her warm smile and great ideas to our food prep team in Castlegar.
