Managing the Change of Project Aurora
An Update for Selkirk College Employees
Please welcome Holly Steenvoorden to her role as Aurora Change Manager.
Holly comes to this new role from her position as Campus Manager where she served Selkirk College’s Nelson and Castlegar campuses for the past seven years. She is pleased to be part of the Aurora team, and in her new role will be involved in all aspects of the project together with Aurora Transformation Lead Liana Zwick.
“Holly brings to our team strong leadership skills and a great passion for Selkirk College,” says Liana. “As we look at Aurora’s Guiding Principles, a culture of collaboration and managing change with compassion and patience are vital as we strive to leave no individual behind.”
A critical focus of Holly’s role is to ensure timely project communication to all key stakeholders, forming a solid foundation for Project Aurora change management strategy plans.
“To be honest, at first I didn't give Aurora much attention because I didn't think it applied to me or my team in Campus Management, but only to the Finance, Admissions and HR teams,” says Holly. “Now that I'm closer to the project, and the more I learn about the improved efficiency and customer service that these systems will provide to us, the more excited I become about the future of the college and helping to move us through this change."
The recruit for Holly’s Campus Manager position is underway with anticipated backfill commencing in early February. Until then, Holly will manage both roles.
