Former Director of Human Resources Now VP of College Services/CFO
Gary Leier was named Selkirk College Vice President of College Services/CFO in November and has been settling into his new role over the last two months.
“I am honoured with the trust the institution is placing in me,” says Leier. “I look forward to supporting those areas in my charge in the support of learner success at Selkirk College.”
It’s official… Gary Leier is “A Pretty Big Deal.” It says so right on the door of the new Vice President of College Services/CFO’s Castlegar Campus office.
Leier arrived to Selkirk College in October, 2009 to assume the role of Director of Human Resources. In his first five years at the college Leier provided important leadership to the HR Department and beyond.
Prior to arriving at Selkirk College, Leier spent just over 16 years at the Regional District of Central Okanagan where he was the Director of Human Resources. Before taking that position, Leier spent five years as the Industrial Relations Manager for Western Star Trucks.
Leier holds a Bachelor of Business Administration/Economics Degree from Simon Fraser University.
