Making the Core Competencies Visible

The Ministry of Education’s Core Competencies are part of the new curriculum in K-12 education.  Changes in the instructional delivery and assessment will result in students who are more aware of their learning (metacognition) and with expectations of sharing the responsibility for their learning with their instructors (e.g. self-reflection, peer feedback and authentic assessments). Reports like Michael Fullan’s How New Pedagogies Find Deep Learning have inspired instructors worldwide.

Here at the College workshops on Creative and Critical Thinking and Classroom Management Strategies (Liberating Structures) will help instructors continue to support students with metacognition and shared responsibility for learning.
